Penn Action participated in the Rally for Women’s Rights held on March 31 in Levittown. The rally focused energy in opposition to PA HB 1077 which mandates an ultrasound (abdominal or transvaginal) for women seeking an abortion. The Bucks County Courier Times covered the event:
During the rally, the crowd symbolically donned and removed blindfolds, which will be sent to Corbett’s office. The gesture was inspired by recent comments from the governor, who suggested that women close their eyes if they don’t wish to see the images produced by the procedure.
Several Democratic officials spoke Saturday, along with officials from various organizations including the NAACP, Penn Action and Planned Parenthood.
