Taking Back Congress

Throughout the fall, Penn Action volunteers collected and delivered letters from constituents to Cong. Fitzpatrick in support of the American Jobs Act.  On Dec. 8, a week ahead of schedule, we delivered our thousandth letter to the Congressman’s office.

Penn Action also participated in the Take Back Congress Week of Action in D.C. from 12/5 – 12/9. On Dec. 6, a delegation from Bucks County traveled to D.C. to visit Cong. Fitzpatrick’s office to ask that he work to extend Unemployment Insurance benefits and the Payroll Tax Holiday and pay for it in a way that does NOT harm American workers and the economy. We also continued to ask him to support the American Jobs Act, which would create jobs in PA and Bucks County.
